Lurleen wrote and sung this song while she was a waitress at a country western bar (the Beer 'N' Brawl). Homer heard her sing it and pursuaded her to make a record, becoming her manager in the process. However, as he spent more time with her, Marge became jealous and so Homer sold Lurleen's contract to another agent. She goes on to become famous.
