16: "Oh, Whacking Day"

This hymn-like song was sung (to the tune of "O Christmas Tree") at the annual Whacking Day festivals, until Lisa and Bart Simpson (with the help of Barry White) convinced the people of Springfield that it was cruel. Whacking Day supposedly dated back to the time when the town founder, Jebediah Springfield, drove local snakes to the town centre to kill them.
