15: "New Orleans"

Cast: "Oh! Streetcar"
Long before the Superdome
Where the Saints of football play...
Lived a city that the damned call home
Hear their hellish rondelet...
New Orleans!
Home or pirates, drunks and whores
New Orleans!
Tacky, overpriced souvenir store
If you want to go to hell, you should take a trip
To the Sodom and Gomorrah of the Mississip'
New Orleans!
Stinking, rotten, vomiting, vile
New Orleans!
Putrid, brackish, moggotty, foul
New Orleans!
Crummy, lousy, rancid and rank
New Orleans!
This is the introductory song in Llewellyn Sinclair's production of "Oh! Streetcar", a one-night-only show at the Springfield Community Centre. Marge Simpson plays the lead of Blanche DuBois (who doesn't feature in this first song). The opening lines are sung by Chief Wiggum. Other participating Springfieldianites include Apu as a paperboy, Ned as a slovenly husband and Helen Lovejoy as his wife. 8F18 - A Streetcar Named Marge
