The Millennium Bridge is a footbridge across the River Tyne between Gateshead and Newcastle. Its unusal tilting mechanism to allow ships to pass, has earnt it the nickname "the Blinking Eye Bridge". On the Gateshead side, and to the left here, stands the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, which uses an old converted flour mill.
