The restored A4 Class locomotive "Union of South Africa" (60009) pulls the Heart of Midlothian steam service over the viaduct in Durham, on a misty summer morning. The steam engine was refit for mainline specials in 2007, after a long stint at my home county's Severn Valley Railway.
