On display at the Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles Airport, the space shuttle Enterprise never flew in space, but was used for atmospheric flight and landing tests launched from the back of a converted 747. Originally planned to be called Constitution, a campaign by Star Trek fans successfully named the shuttle after the TV spacecraft.
